Health & Safety Hazards are those hazards that may effect workers on a day to day basis, e.g. exhaustion, heat and other dangers around the workplace.
Hazards may then be attached to future incidents if an incident occurs because of their presence.
Step 1
Step 1 asks you to identify the initial hazard that has been discovered, its location and what kind of incidents may occur from them.
Step 2
Step 2 summarizes the Hazard you have described and invites you to add a control to it in order to neutralize the hazard or reduce the likelihood of an incident occurring.
You can start by adding an immediate control in order to reduce risk while other control is being organised or if you aware the medium/long term control may take time. This can be added by selecting the "Yes-Add Another" button.
If the immediate control is completed and solves the issue completely you can move on without adding a medium/long term control by selecting the "No - Save & Go to Step 3" button.
Step 2b
Adding another control - the medium or long term control.
Step 3
Step 3 asks for the affect that the controls have had on the Hazard. Initially record the immediate controls affect. Once the Medium/Long term control has been completed (in this case on the 15th), you can look up the Hazard and update the affect.
Step 4
This step encourages you to review the Hazard record and make any changes that you may wish to make.
